Caring for the health and safety of our people and planet is at the heart of how nbn operates. Whether you’re working out in the community or in one of our offices, we have programs and systems to keep you safe and help you do your best work.
All our new starters are provided with Health, Safety and Environment training as well as a number of on boarding activities which will get you off to a great start.
In addition, the following HSE principles guide the way nbn operates:

We encourage staff to get involved with various Health, Safety and Environment initiatives from our volunteer positions as Fire Wardens, First Aiders through to our myWellbeing Champions. There is always a Health, Safety and Environment initiative to be involved in.
myWellbeing
myWellbeing is the nbn Health and Wellbeing program which puts your health and happiness centre stage by increasing mental, physical and social wellbeing both at work and at home. You will have the opportunity to access a range of activities and resources to equip you with the tools to thrive and perform at your peak.
nbn have a range of myWellbeing initiatives focusing on four main areas: Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, Winter Wellness and Family and Relationships.
We have over 60 enthusiastic myWellbeing representatives in all of our business areas, who provide their teams with information on programs and encourage participation in the large variety of initiatives that we offer.
Environment & Sustainability
nbn puts the highest priority on initiatives which support our environment and ensure sustainable practices throughout the business, including:
- Protecting the ecological environment as well as community and heritage matters during construction or operation of the network
- Managing nbn’s energy, carbon and climate risks
- Securing opportunities for positive environmental actions and delivering industry innovations.
