nbn™ Select

A new capability for retail service providers (RSPs) to implement a change of access technology at their end customers’ premises at eligible locations to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP).

Your guide to nbn™ Select

nbn is investing in the network infrastructure to meet the demands of Australian businesses and making it easier for RSPs to provide high-bandwidth products. It’s become apparent that some businesses require the additional capacity made possible through fibre-based products.

In response, nbn has introduced nbn™ Select, which simplifies the process for managing and ordering changes of access technology to FTTP for RSPs on behalf of business end customers at eligible locations.*

What is nbn™ Select?

nbn™ Select is a new execution tool, designed to simplify the way RSPs order and manage a change of access technology for their business end customers at eligible locations.

It will allow greater access to the business grade capability of the nbn™ broadband access network.

What does nbn™ Select do?

The nbn™ Select portal, will provide the ability for RSPs, on behalf of business end customers at eligible locations,* to upgrade their current access technology to FTTP.

FTTP provides the highest level of network capability across the nbn™ Ethernet access technologies including:**

  • Wholesale Traffic Class 4 (TC4) Peak Information Rate speeds up to 1000/400Mbps
  • Wholesale Traffic Class 2 (TC2) Committed Information Rate speeds up to 100/100Mbps

How can I learn more?

To leverage the nbn™ Select capability, RSPs will need to sign up to a new commercial agreement and be on-boarded to use the portal.

To learn more about the opportunities nbn™ Select provides and the steps required to get to market, please contact your business nbn™ Sales and Marketing Account Executive.

* nbn™ Select is only available in select geographic areas. Speak to your nbn™ Account Team for more information.

** nbn provides services to its wholesale customers, phone and internet providers, and does not provide services directly to end customers. End customer experience including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ broadband access network depends on some factors outside of our control like equipment quality, software, broadband plans and how the end customer’s provider designs its network.
