Before you upload your designs

Please ensure you follow the relevant pit and pipe or pathway build process

Design support tool

Developers and/or their internal and external pathway contractors need to adhere to CAD Standards and Symbols Specifications when drafting designs. It is strongly advised that you use our Assisted Drafting Tool (ADT) for all pre-construct and as-built pathway designs (new and amended).

Submit your designs

Pre-construct design

The checklists below list the requirements that must be met before the pre-construct design can be submitted to nbn. Once the design has been submitted, we will review and contact you if any amendments are required.

You can only commence the build of pit and pipe or pathway works using the approved pre-construct designs by us.

As-built designs and Notice of Practical Completion (PCN)

It is our responsibility to install the nbn™ broadband access network once you have completed the design and build processes and the PCN is certified by us.

When you submit an as-built design and/or a PCN, you are notifying us that Practical Completion has been achieved and you are ready for a site inspection. In order for us to access the required infrastructure to connect your development, you will need to grant license or transfer ownership of the infrastructure to us. Once your build is approved, you will also receive a Certificate of Practical Completion.

Please read the relevant as-built handover and PCN checklists below for your development type:

Work with an nbn® trained New Developments supplier

We encourage developers (big and small) to seek the assistance and support of an industry professional or an nbn trained New Developments supplier - designer or installer. As it’s your responsibility to ensure the design and build of the nbn infrastructure within your property boundary meets our standards, the assistance of an expert can be extremely helpful.
