We know that many Australians will have questions and comments about the nbn™ network, and we encourage feedback, commentary, and discussion that’s calm, constructive, and considerate.  

We expect that anyone wanting to share their opinion on our social channels will ensure that their comments are relevant and respectful to everyone in the community, and adhere to our community guidelines.

These guidelines assist us in identifying any comments that will need to be moderated or removed, and in severe cases, result in blocking of users from the community completely.

Social media community guidelines

The types of opinions or comments that will not be tolerated within our community include content that is:

• False, inaccurate or misleading
• Abusive or threatening, or causes injury or harm to any person
• Offensive or sexually explicit
• Racist, sexist, homophobic, hateful or discriminatory against any religion, age, ethnicity, or disability
• Unlawful or defamatory
• Trolling, deliberate disruption of discussion, or posts that will not further the discussion positively
• Consistent misrepresentation of nbn and the nbn^TM network
• Identifies or directs abuse at an nbn staff member
• Any personal attack on the author of content, and other readers/community members.
• An infringement of any third party’s intellectual property rights
• Spam
• Solicitation
• Any computer viruses or another potentially damaging computer program or file
• Link baiting

Please do not include any personal or sensitive information such as account information, birthday, home address, phone number or tax file number.

For any content that you post on our social channels , you grant nbn a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferrable right and licence to use, copy, modify, delete and accept such content without further consultation, reference, payment or other compensation to you.  We reserve the right to delete any content you have posted that we deem, at its sole discretion, violates these guidelines.
